About Process Technology
Process Technicians work as team players with engineers and other technicians to ensure safety and quality of operations in all plant production and maintenance functions. They control safely various plant operations and provide preventing maintenance and inspections to process equipment. Additionally, they may work indoors monitoring and operating manufacturing related processes. Process Technicians also collect data, record and interpret observations and process schematics, calculate and report results. They may also analyze raw materials and products, or explore new processes as members of engineering and plant designing teams. The HCC process Technology curriculum was developed primarily by the Gulf Coast Process Technology Alliance and the American Chemical Society. It identifies standards Process Technicians should comprehend and be familiar with to be successful in modern process industries. Enrolled students receive a solid foundation of applied Process Technology knowledge, sciences and mathematics, along with supportive hands-on experience with the type of equipment currently used in industrial plants.
